Sometimes you have to try and try and try recipes in order to perfect them. This time round, that was not the case as these patties turned out perfect! Those patties are full of precious nutrients, fibre, and a cinch to make. Even if you’re into your meat-y burgers and not a big fan of veggie burgers, you’re going to love these. The final taste resembles a lot to falafels, minus the deep frying but plus the broccoli and other good stuff.
The broccoli really tastes amazing in this specific recipe, as it really compliments the taste that of the chickpeas. It’s also a great way to substitute flour for something more nutritious yet delicious too with added flavour (Added bonus!!)
Half a Broccoli head, into florets
1/2 tin can Chickpeas
1/2 Garlic glove
1 tbsp Tahini
2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive oil
1/2 tsp Himalayan salt
1 tsp Black pepper
1/2 tsp Paprika
Preheat the oven to 170C. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper.
Place the broccoli florets into the food processor and blend into a flour. Add in the chickpeas, garlic and blend again. Pour in the olive oil and tahini along with the salt, pepper and paprika to the mixture and blend one last time. You should now be left with a dough like mixture that will form approximately 4 – 6 patties. It may help to wet your hands to flatten the patties to about 3 inches thick. Place on the tray with parchment and put into the oven for 45 minutes, turning them half way through.
