Aussie Açai Bowl

Now that it’s Summer, and has been for quite a while, the temperatures actually somewhat warm and I have been craving fresh smoothies like crazy. I’m a huge fan of the Acai Bowl, so it’s time I come up with the tastiest (if I say so myself) Acai. I am a huge fan of almond butter, really any nut butter, so I needed to put it into this recipe; its super important you have it handy when you’re making this recipe because it plays a big rolein the final flavour.

I just want to put this out there, if for some reason you’re not a almond butter person, you can use any nut butter instead. I think that cashew butter and peanut butter would be equally delicious and flavoursome here.

This acai bowl is so so simple. You’ll need ten minutes of prep work, zero cooking and maybe five minutes to make it look all pretty.

It’s fast, healthy and SO good, plus super satisfying leaving you with so much energy! Perfect for a good glowing morning breakfast or a hearty snack!

Serves 2

Ingredients:

2 cups frozen strawberries

2 frozen sliced bananas

4 tbsp acai powder

1 cup almond milk

2 tbsp almond/hazelnut butter

1 tbsp coconut sugar (optional)
My favourite toppings:

Sliced strawberries

Granola

Blueberries

Almond butter

Coconut yoghurt

Maple syrup/honey

Coconut flakes

Chia seeds
Method:

Place all the ingredients for the acai bowl in a blender and blend it well. Then divide between two bowls and decorate with berries, granola, chia seeds, honey, nut butter and everything else you’d like to see on there. So delicious and nutritious!
